City of Vicksburg Now Accepting Applications for Firefighters

The City of Vicksburg
is now accepting applications for

FIREFIGHTERS

To qualify you must:
-Be a United States Citizen
-Be at least 18 years of age
-Have a valid driver’s license
-High School Diploma (GED Acceptable) and
-ACT minimum score of 17 or
-Next Generation ACCUPLACER score of 246 or
-ACCUPLACER score of 76 in the reading section or
-A Nationally registered EMT or Paramedic will substitute for
-ACT OR ACCUPLACER scores (Proof of certification must be presented when application is submitted)

Undergo hiring screening, including a complete background check

Application packets may be obtained at the City of Vicksburg Human Resource Office, (ROBERT M. WALKER, ANNEX BUILDING) 1415 Walnut Street, Suite 100, Vicksburg, MS 39180, beginning at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2026, and must be returned by 4:00 p.m., Thursday, January 29, 2026.The agility test will be on January 16th, 23rd , & 30th, 2026 at 8:00am The written exam will be January 23rd , 30th, & February 6th, 2026, at 9:00 am.
