The City of Vicksburg Police Department provides victim services designed to protect victims of crime or abuse who have just cause to feel threatened or in danger in their homes. These services are available from the time that the crime has been committed through the court proceedings regarding the case. Dedicated staff are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to respond immediately to the scene of a crime, accident, or victim's homes as necessary. These services are available for anyone who has been the victim of a crime particularly domestic violence.

Victim services recommends agencies that provide counseling includes free counseling, assistance gaining restraining protective orders, and information regarding the availability of restitution for crimes committed as well as other services and provides information regarding the Victim Compensation Fund which assists individuals or family members who have been a victim of a violent crime by providing financial assistance.
