Vickie Bailey is honored to serve as the Alderwoman for Ward 2, bringing a lifelong passion for Vicksburg and its people to City Hall. Born and raised in the heart of Vicksburg, Vickie is the proud daughter of the late Bettye Jean Bailey and has called this city home for almost six decades. Growing up on Fairground Street, she is a product of the Vicksburg Warren School District; a proud graduate of Vicksburg High School Class of 1986.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Mississippi College and has spent more than three decades in public service and community leadership. Vickie worked for 25 years with the City of Vicksburg in Parks & Recreation and Youth Services. Her career also includes impactful roles with the Vicksburg Warren School District, the Mississippi Tobacco Free Coalition, Ameristar Hotel & Casino, Jackson State University’s Walter Payton Recreation and Wellness Center, and as an EFNEP Coordinator for Alcorn State University Extension Service, planning and leading community education and outreach programs.
A licensed paraprofessional coach and mentor, Vickie has dedicated herself to empowering youth, serving as a tennis coach at both Warren Central and Vicksburg High Schools. She is also a Licensed and Ordained Minister, currently serving as Youth Minister at Word of Faith Christian Center–Vicksburg, where she guides young people in both leadership and spiritual development.
As a mother of two daughters and grandmother of five, Vickie is deeply committed to the future of Vicksburg’s children and families. She believes in building bridges across communities, promoting unity, and ensuring every resident has a voice and a pathway to opportunity.
Known for her intelligence, motivation, and visionary leadership, Alderwoman Bailey is committed to fostering inclusive progress, collaboration, and shared prosperity throughout Ward 2 and across Vicksburg.
She invites all residents to join her in creating a stronger, more unified city where everyone can thrive—today and for generations to come.
