All municipal elections in the City of Vicksburg (Mayor and Aldermen only) are run by the City of Vicksburg Election Commission and the City Clerk's Office. The Election Commission is an elected body that is not affiliated with the local, state, or federal government. The Election Commission and the City Clerk's Office are responsible for registering voters, assisting absentee voters, and establishing polling places throughout the City of Vicksburg. They are also in charge of maintaining the registration rolls and hiring poll managers to work on election days. Poll managers process voters, issue ballots, and answer voter questions during primary and general elections.
