Tax Incentives

Tax Incentives are tools used to attract businesses to the area and to encourage the expansion of current businesses. The City of Vicksburg is committed to its local businesses and to the development of new business which in turn is a commitment to its residents. The City of Vicksburg has available three types of tax incentives to those eligible.

The three types of tax incentives and the eligible groups are as follows: Tax
exemptions for new and improvements made to Industrial businesses, Tax increment funding better known as TIF for the development of retail and other businesses adding infrastucture to the property, and tax abatement for the Downtown taxing district. Tax exemptions are applied for and primarily set and adopted by the County. Tax Increment Funding is generally applied for through the City for the development of retail and other businesses.
