Perpetual Easements - Purchasing Rights

Last Updated: 22 February 2015

Interment (Burial) spaces or lots are available at the City of Vicksburg's Cedar Hill Cemetery through the purchase of Perpetual Easements for Interment.

The City no longer conveys Cemetery land; however, the City does honor all previous purchases.

The Easements, also known as Rights to Inter or Interment Rights, are purchased directly from Cedar Hill Cemetery. Funeral Homes may assist in the process.

The Perpetual Easements for Interment may not be re-sold except back to the City at the original purchase price less a transfer fee. The City will not buy back spaces already used.

Group purchases by Funeral Home, Church or other are limited to no more than sixteen 5' x 10' spaces at one time. No additional purchases by the group are allowed until three quarter of the lot is full. (Note: The group may authorize interment but is not permitted to sell or transfer rights).

Spaces or lots sold prior to May 15, 2006 may still be purchased independently from a reseller. If this is the case, you must present a bill of sale and quit claim deed, or proof of heirship, to the City Clerk's office to transfer the records into your name.
