Last Updated: 22 February 2015

The City of Vicksburg operates one cemetery within the area. The Cemetery Department oversees the Cedar Hill Cemetery located at the intersection of Sky Farm Avenue and Lovers Lane. The cemetery is open to the public from 7:00 am until dusk every day of the week.

Cedar Hill Cemetery is divided into two main parts with multiple Divisions within. Division M is located on the west side of the Cemetery (west of Lovers Lane). This west side has two gated entrances; one located on Sky Farm, the other gated entrance is located on the left just before the Cemetery office at Lovers Lane. Divisions A, B, C, D, E, F, G and new development Division J are located on the east side (east of Lovers Lane). This side has four gated entrances; Gates 1, 2 and 3 located off Sky Farm Avenue and Gate 4 located off Lovers Lane.

References to "New Cemetery" are Divisions E, F, G, M and new development named J, as well as any future development.

Northeast of Division C are the graves and memorial site of Confederate Soldiers. This site is historic "Soldiers Rest." The Confederate Soldiers graves and memorial site are for those who died behind Confederate lines during the Siege of Vicksburg. Directions to this site are as follows: turn right onto Sky Farm Avenue from Mission 66 and follow the boundary of the Cemetery. Turn left at the second Entrance Gate into the Cemetery. Continue through the gate on Lindsey Street for approximately one-quarter mile to the center of "Soldiers Rest."
