Hood and Duct Permits

A permit is required to install or construct a hood and duct fire extinguishing systems in all structures within the City of Vicksburg. Once a complete set of plans for the construction is approved by the City of Vicksburg Building and Inspection Department, a mechanical permit will be issued for the project. Additional permits may be required depending on the nature of the work.

Hood and duct systems also require inspection by the City of Vicksburg Building and Inspection and Fire Departments before the system can be used. To request an inspection, please contact the Building and Inspection at (601) 634-4528 and the Fire Department at (601) 634-4566 and give them the relevant permit numbers, the time and date you would like the inspection, where the inspection will occur and the name of the contractor. Allow a minimum of 24 hours from the time of your request for a fire inspector to inspect your site.
