City of Vicksburg Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of online forms, websites, email notifications, text messaging, digital communication tools, and other electronic services provided by or on behalf of the City of Vicksburg, Mississippi.

By using the City’s online services, submitting information through a City form, signing up for notifications, or communicating with the City electronically, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

 

Purpose of City Communication Services

The City of Vicksburg may use digital communication tools to provide information about City services, public notices, meetings, events, programs, service updates, emergency or non-emergency alerts, and other official City business.

Voluntary Use

Use of the City’s digital communication services is voluntary.

Some City services may still be available through other methods, including phone, in-person service, mail, or email, depending on the department and type of request.

 

Information You Submit

When you submit information through a City website, form, email, text message, or other communication tool, you agree that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

You are responsible for keeping your contact information current if you wish to continue receiving updates or responses from the City.

 

Text Message and Notification Services

If you provide your mobile phone number and choose to receive text messages from the City, you consent to receive SMS/text messages related to City services, public notices, alerts, events, programs, service updates, reminders, or other official City communications.

Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply.

You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP or contact the City directly.

Consent to receive text messages is not required to receive City services.

The City will not sell mobile information or SMS opt-in consent. Mobile information and SMS opt-in consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

 

Third-Party Service Providers

The City may use third-party service providers to operate websites, forms, email systems, SMS messaging, notification tools, payment systems, or other digital services.

These providers may process information only as necessary to support City operations and provide services on behalf of the City. They are not authorized to use City-provided contact information for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

 

Public Records Notice

Acceptable Use

Accuracy and Availability

The City makes reasonable efforts to provide accurate and timely information. However, the City does not guarantee that all information will be error-free, complete, current, or continuously available.

Digital services may be delayed, interrupted, or unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, vendor outages, internet service problems, mobile carrier issues, emergencies, or other circumstances outside the City’s control.

 

Emergency Information

City digital communication tools are not a substitute for calling 911.

If you have an emergency, call 911 immediately.

Do not rely on text messages, email, websites, or online forms as your only source of emergency assistance or emergency information.

City websites or messages may contain links to third-party websites. These links are provided for convenience or informational purposes.

The City is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, security, or accuracy of third-party websites.
