The City of Vicksburg Community Planning Department operates to assist citizens, businesses, and City of Vicksburg departments in managing land to insure that land use complies with the City's zoning regulations and meets the needs of Vicksburg and its citizens. The department does this by maintaining records of zoning districts, and by reviewing subdivision plats and site plans. They also provide assistance with and rule on land use permits, site plans, and zoning violations. Whether you are planning to build or modify your home or business or transact real property, you will need to contact the Community Planning Department before proceeding. The department coordinates with the seven member Planning Commission / Zoning Board of Appeals to process and review site plans and subdivision plats and approve land use and zoning applications.
