Ice Bucket ChallengeDressed in his business attire, Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs took the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Ice Bucket Challenge on Aug. 21, 2014. Just before being soaked with ice water the Mayor challenged local elected officials, schools officials and State officials including Governor Phil Bryant and Attorney General Jim Hood to take part in the challenge in support of Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

The Ice Bucket Challenge, sometimes called the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, is an activity involving dumping a bucket of ice water on one's head or donating to the ALS Association. The challenge dares nominated participants to be filmed having a bucket of ice water poured on their heads. A common stipulation is that nominated people have 24 hours to comply or forfeit by way of a charitable financial donation.
