The newly constructed tennis courts at Halls Ferry Park will be the home for the 2016 Annual United Way, Breast Cancer Awareness Benefit Tennis Mixer to be held on Sunday, October 16th beginning at 1 p.m.
The popular event is open to all ages regardless of tennis skills. No registration is necessary. Participants are asked to arrive at the courts beginning at 1 p.m. Players will be mixed and matched with suitable partners and opponents. From there the fun will begin. Tennis balls will be provided by the City of Vicksburg. Players should bring their personal tennis racquets in order to play.
Grilled meats will be available; attendees are asked to bring a favorite covered dish to share.
The Tennis Mixer is free to the public; however, donations are encouraged and very much appreciated. Proceeds will benefit the United Way of West Central Mississippi and Believers of Faith Cancer Organization.

The Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Vicksburg is announcing that Fall Baseball Registration will begin August 10, 2016 and run through September 12, 2016. Cost per player is $25.00. Registration forms can be picked up at the Offices of Parks and Recreation at 100 Army-Navy Drive and Hobies Sports. Coaches will be needed to coach these teams for fall baseball. Cost per team is $175.00 plus additional cost of $10.00 per player from the county and a $20.00 additional cost for players from Sharkey-Issaquena and Claiborne counties. Summer hours at City Pool will end Friday, August 5th. We will be open for weekend swimming, Saturday and Sunday, 1-5 p.m. until August 21st.
Early bird lap swimming will be held from 7 until 8:45 a.m.
Lunchtime Laps are scheduled from 11 - 1 p.m. Monday - Friday.
These hours will be kept until October 31st or until the air and water become too cold (75 degree average) whichever comes first.

Children 12 years old & younger MUST be accompanied by an ADULT at least 18 years old! (our lifeguards are not baby sitter's)
The Vicksburg City Pool Lifeguards are trained to act and respond to any Land OR Water Emergencies! Lifeguards are trained to enforce pool rules and ensure patrons safety.

Recreation Swim hours are 1 – 5 p.m. seven days a week
Beginning June 6th, Family Swim Time will be offered from 6:45 – 8 p.m. Monday thru Friday
During weeks when no swim lessons are held, Family Swim Time will begin at 6 p.m.
Vicksburg Swim Association Swim Team practice and Early Bird Lap Swimming is scheduled on weekdays from 6 – 8:45 a.m. Lunchtime Lap Swimming is available from 12 – 1 p.m.
City Pool will be closed for Recreation Swim June 3 – June 5 for the Stamm Family Invitational Swim Meet.
In celebration of its 20th Anniversary, Vicksburg City Pool will hold several “gift card give- aways” for Vicksburg area businesses. The “give- aways” will be held at random times throughout the summer. Some dates will be announced on the Vicksburg City Pool facebook page while other dates will come as a complete surprise.
Vicksburg City Pool would like to remind all patrons to please wear proper swimsuits while swimming. Swimsuits help keep you safe and pools clean.
