City Clerk

The City Clerk, appointed by the Mayor and Aldermen is custodian of the City's official Seal and charged with the responsibility of keeping records of all proceedings of the elected officials of the City of Vicksburg.

The City Clerk's Office compiles and distributes Board meeting agendas; maintains an accurate record of the proceedings; publishes public notices as required by law; conducts municipal elections; serves as custodian of all contracts, dockets of claims, ordinances, resolutions, submitted bids and other City records; coordinates record keeping activities of all City staff; maintains City cemetery records; and follows up on inquiries, complaints, letters, calls and research requests as prescribed by open record laws. Board Meetings

Regular meetings of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen are held on the first and third Monday and the 10th and 25th of each month in the City Hall Annex Council Room located at 1413 Walnut Street to take up matters brought before the Board. Citizens wishing to address the Board are requested to submit a letter to the City Clerk's Office stating name, address, and issue which they wish to discuss. Board Meetings are open to the public and are also aired on TV23.
