The Vicksburg Water and Gas office is proud to announce our new "Paperless Billing" service. Customers who would prefer not to receive their utility bills by mail now have the option of receiving their bill by email instead.

The Vicksburg Police Department donated signs that remind drivers and students to "Buckle Up" and "Don't Text and Drive". The signs were printed in St. Aloysius school colors of purple and gold! Here Deputy Chief Mitchell Dent, Police Chief Walter Armstrong, St. Al students, Ann Garrison Thomas, Dixon Stone, Derek Dolan and Deputy Chief John Dolan display the signs for the City Board and those attending the City Board Meeting.

Vicksburg-Warren County Designated Storm Ready

Storm Ready is a National Program to prepare communities with an action plan that responds to the threat of all types of severe weather—from tornadoes to tsunamis. A voluntary program created in 1998 by the National Weather Service's Tulsa, Okla. forecast office, StormReady provides clear-cut advice to community leaders and emergency managers and media that would improve their local hazardous weather operations.

Volunteer Your Time with CASA to Change a Child's Life

Court Appointed Special AdvocatesThe mission of CASA is to support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy, so that every abused or neglected child can be safe, establish permanence and have an opportunity to thrive. Our goal is for every child within the justice system to have a voice. As a community let's take some time out of our day, to protect a child rights and to make sure they are in a safe home. So please GET INVOLVED and be the voice of a child. Child abuse or neglect does not go away, but majority of the abuse is preventable. If you would like to become a volunteer contact the Vicksburg CAP Center's CASA Program at 601.634.0557.

Shields Named "Coach of The Year"

Rick ShieldsRick Shields, Assistant Parks and Recreation Director, was selected by the NFHS Coaches Association as Coach of The Year for Mississippi for the 2011-2012 school year. Rick coached the St. Aloysius High School tennis team to the 1A tennis state championship earlier this year. Rick will be recognized at the annual spring MHSAA meeting. St. Aloysius clinched the Class 1A team title by upsetting the defending state champion Sacred Heart of Hattiesburg 4-3 at Millsaps College.
