The City of Vicksburg, along with Waste Management, provides pickup for debris, old appliances, garbage, limbs, and rubbish. Maintenance and repair is also offered for trash containers.
The City of Vicksburg provides solid waste roll out containers to City of Vicksburg citizens to ease with semi automated waste collection. City containers come in four sizes.

The preferred size is the 96 gallon container which typically allows enough room for the mixing of both household garbage and yard waste and has a load capacity of three hundred and twenty five (325)pounds . Other sizes available for those with special needs are the 64 gallon container with a load capacity of two hundred and twenty four (224) pounds, the 48 gallon container with a load capacity of One Hundred and sixty eight (168) pounds and 32 gallon container with a load capacity of One Hundred and twelve (112) pounds.

Containers remain the property of the City of Vicksburg but are assigned to the street address. The City containers have been distributed to each unit based on the utility services at that location. There is no additional cost for the City Container; however, a resident may apply for an additional container with a monthly charge of $5.00 added to the sanitation fee on the utility bill. This covers the additional cost of disposal.

Small commercial establishments are also eligible for the City contract of solid waste collection. If a small commercial chooses the City contract verses their own contract with a franchised solid waste collector, then they too will be issued one 96 gallon container, other sizes avalable as stated previously; however, the small commercial establishment may not apply for more than one (1) container.
