Being excited and a bit nervous at the thought of buying a home is very common, especially if this is going to be your first home. Our goal is to take the uncertainty out of the home buying process. No matter what your concerns are about buying a home, this Homebuyer Fair will help you feel more confident as you undertake what will probably be the largest purchase of your life. The fair is scheduled for June 27, 2015 at the Vicksburg City Auditorium from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

notice smallSuncoast Infrastructure, a contactor working for the City, will begin tests of Vicksburg sanitary sewer system.

Testing will take place starting on approximately 8 June 2015 and will wrap up by the end of September.

Field personnel with the contractor will release a non-toxic and non-staining test smoke into the manholes, which will travel through the sanitary sewer system in order to detect and breaks or leaks in the city's system.

notice smallBeginning June 1, the cost of water and sewer service for Vicksburg residents is going up. The cost of residential and small commercial garbage collection will go down.

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen Tuesday adopted ordinances setting new increased water and sewer rates ranging from 5 percent to a maximum of 30 percent for residential and commercial customers based on water use and reducing the city's garbage rates by 5 percent. The new rates become effective June 1.

Mayor and Miss Outstanding I had the opportunity to meet some of the contestants competing for the crown of Miss Mississippi Outstanding Teen. I'm looking forward to attending the pageant tonight here in Vicksburg and presenting flowers to the winners. These young ladies are extraordinary individuals who have excelled in the classroom and in their communities. They are all winners to me! I would also like to thank the staff of the Miss Mississippi Outstanding Teen Pageant who do a phenomenal job of planning and organizing the pageant each year. This is just another example of why people are saying great things about Vicksburg!
